What you need to know about the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period

What is the Medicare Annual Enrollment period?

The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) takes place from October 15th to December 7th every year. This is the annual period for current Medicare members to review the upcoming changes for the next calendar year. Enrollments made during this period generally take effect at the beginning of the next calendar year. Some Medicare Advantage Plans and stand-along prescription drug plans will either change year to year, stay the same, or end entirely. It’s important to take advantage of this annual enrollment period to see if any action is necessary.
